Very Cute Fountain!Mar 21, 2012
By foofy60 This fountain is very cute. It came well packed and protected. There were pictorial instructions for assembly, which was very easy. However, there was no information stating possible precautions when using this product, such as hazardous placement, etc., not letting it run dry, etc. There was no indication how much water to use or where to put it in...before turning on pump, or after; and also no instructions on caring for the fountain...does it need periodic cleaning, etc. This is not a high price item, but I would like to know how to take proper care of it. Nevertheless, I would buy another one...at this point. I put it out on my deck just today, so I have nothing long-term to report.
I put a little over a gallon of water in the back where the opening is, put in the pump and plugged it in. It sounds very nice. There is minimal splashing. You can adjust the hat somewhat to vary the amount of trickling noise, which also may make a difference in the amount of splash. It's not really splashing, but a kind of random spitting as the water flows off the hat. Well, a lot of comment, but if you want a western look to your patio, deck, or garden, go for this one. Another thought: I may add a few drops of bleach to the water, but I don't know. I wouldn't want to have anything get bleached. Plus, I have placed mine where it gets a lot of sun, so I hope it doesn't fade.
Have fun with this! I think you'll like it.
