 Great Little Birdhouse at a Great PriceJun 25, 2010

This is a very simple birdhouse and it looks great hanging from my apple tree. I wanted a nautical themed birdhouse since I live by the ocean, and this one is perfect. A bird moved in within the first few days of putting it up. The detailing on the birdhouse is not perfect but you can't tell from a few feet away and for the price, I'll take a little imperfection.

The detail on this lighthouse is exquisite! There's a little ladder leading up to the tower, some hemp as a fishing net on the side, and a little fence on the border. I bought this for my mother, a lighthouse lover, and she LOVED it. She got sooo many bird feeders as a house warming present, but she told me this one was her favorite! At $15 it's a great buy! Some birdhouses with this much cute little details can go for $45. It has a sign that says "Nautical Nest" on it. But my mother painted over it with her last name with some fabric paint; looks great!

The lighthouse looked as if it has been sitting on the shelf for a long time. It is dusty and two pieces (the rowboat and the hook part) fell off when I pulled the lighthouse out of the box (I pulled out the lighthouse as carefully as I can). They are easy to glue back on, but they should not have fall off in the first place. It is not something you would hang outside like a real birdhouse. It is more for indoor decoration. I bought this for my friend who is a lighthouse-lover, and I am sure she'll love it once I fix it up.

Good quality. Good detail for the price paid. Good value. Just don't think the bird can actually live in it as the hole is too high for the bird to go into the house and build a nest at the bottom. However, we saw some sticks inside a few days after we put it up..but that was it.

Bought this for a birthday gift.
It arrived broken. Shipping and packaging was perfect, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't damaged during shipping. (It was a box-in-a-box, with bubble wrap).
I didn't have time to send it back to get it replaced, and it was so cheap, it's not worth the effort.
For what it's worth, it's a pretty birdhouse - but I use the term birdhouse in the "totally non-functional as a birdhouse, but looks like a birdhouse" way.
It's very delicate, so even if it arrived intact, it wouldn't be usable as a birdhouse.
2 stars because it's pretty, but arrived broken.
