Beautiful, but listing was misleading.Mar 30, 2011
By Jenny Bauman I was very pleased with the price of this item, but the low price makes more sense now that I have it in my hands. It's truly pretty, but it is cheaper feeling than it looks in the seller's photo. The biggest issue I have with this item is that it's NOT a nice dark brown/bronze color like is shown. It's actually a shiny black. (I uploaded a photo to the listing so you can see the actual color.) The other problem I have is that it's quite a bit smaller than I expected. The listing states that it's 13" tall, but they're including the hanging ring in that measurement (and then rounding up from there.) The lantern is actually about 11" tall. (I also included a photo of this, too.)
Other than the misleading description of this item, I really do like it. It lives on my rustic coffee table and puts off a beautiful glow when the candle is lit, and offers a nice Moroccan flair to my decor.

Gorgeous patternsNov 06, 2010

Sturdy little lantern. I love that the door can be opened and tucked to the side; it gives one the option of leaving the front fully open for a decorative twist. Being a subtle gloss black, it can be used interchangeably in various decor. It's currently being used on a table top, so I can't attest to how it hangs-but the patterns it casts are still beautiful.
There is no "candle holder" built inside, allowing one to use tea lights or pillar candles, which I think is fantastic. Great little lantern!

Wasn't what I was expecting...Apr 06, 2011
By hillaryc I like this lamp, don't get me wrong. But the pictures were misleading. I thought it was going to be a dark brass color, like the others I have purchased and bought it to match those I already have, but it was a painted black color. It's sturdy and looks beautiful, just wasn't the color I was looking for. It is also not 13" tall, unless you include the little hanging ring, it's a bit shorter. It's big enough for larger candles, which I like, and that there's no candle ring in the bottom makes it versatlie.

Great Candle HolderMar 05, 2011
By L. E. Gill It's a glossy black color, almost enamel black (I had expected more of a bronze or wrought iron look from picture). The door metal was slightly bent on the top and bottom of the door piece, but it would be easy to bend back, I think. It didn't detract for me because I am putting it with the door in back. I put a flameless candle inside and it looks gorgeous. Very happy with purchase.

NOT AS PICTURED OR DESCRIBEDFeb 14, 2012
By Donna This lantern is not the brown, worn, matte look pictured. It is a very shiny black finish. It is also shorter than the stated height. I ordered two, and each one measures 3 3/4 wide x 11 1/2 tall. So wrong color and wrong size. Also, the ring on top does not stay in the "up" position.
The last reviewer summed it up nicely. Very disappointed.
