 Product Too Small -- Burns EasilyMar 06, 2012

I purchased two of these aromatherapy diffusers to replace the two that I had bought at Bath and Body Works, whose glass dishes had cracked after several years of daily use (I like my aromatherapy!) These are good-looking diffusers and have an attractive design. However, the flame from the candle burns far too close to the bottom of the glass dish where the water and aromatherapy oil go. Both times I've used these diffusers, they've literally burned the oil to the bottom of the dish. Not only is it unsightly, it's extremely difficult to clean off the burned residue. If you can remember to check the water/essential oil levels regularly, then these would work fine for you. However, I myself don't remember to do that, as my B&BW diffusers had a much bigger dish and the dish was further away from the flame, thus did not burn with each use. Good for people who remember to check their diffusers several times while the candle is lit; not so great for those of us who want to light the diffuser, enjoy the aromatherapy, and forget about things for a while.

I like the looks of this warmer, and it's easy to clean the glass dish. The candle sits in just the right position to warm the oil and water. The problem I have, is that the dish is too shallow and too wide. Since it's so wide, there's a larger surface area for the liquid to evaporate from. This means I have to add water two or three times when I use a four hour candle. I have another warmer that doesn't hold as much water, but it's deeper, and the opening is smaller so I don't have to add water or worry about it becoming burned, because all the liquid has evaporated. So far I haven't forgotten to top off the water when I've used this warmer, but it's just a matter of time. So, if you're the type of person who is prone to forget things, or gets distracted, this isn't the warmer for you.

I purchased this warmer for my office...it looks very nice on my desk. I wish the glass "bowl" was a bit larger/deeper so I don't have to keep an eye on it and keep refilling it throughout the day.

It's so difficult to find an oil warmer per se, that finding a cute one is almost impossible. But this oil warmer is so elegant that easily decorates any corner of your house. Shipping was fast, price is excellent. I recommend it to everybody.

I was hesitant about buying this item. Like most people, I like to buy things that looks fancy without paying fancy prices. This oil burner looks soooo much better than one I got from cb2 (a very chic store) for more than thirty dollars. The distance between the tea light flame and the little glass plate is perfect. Not too close that burns the oil super fast, not too far that takes forever to spread the aroma. I would definitely get more!
