I cannot believe I paid this much for a hair brush but...Aug 13, 2009
By Island Girl ...it was so worth the price. I have long, curly hair that breaks and snarls easily. This brush is, in a word, wonderful. It doesn't tug at my hair, it feels nice on my scalp and it makes my hair shiny. I have easily spent more than $200 in an attempt to find a decent brush that doesn't hurt when I use it and, at the same time, doesn't snap in two after only a month of use. I am so glad I made the splurge with my Mason Pearson brush!

Best Brush MadeNov 23, 2010
By S. Bolton I purchased a M-P mixed bristle brush 35 years ago, and I still use it to this day. I wish I had taken better care of it. Over the years it's been dropped & cracked, then superglued. Now it has a little piece that's broken out next to the original crack. But the brush part is still fine. No other brush, not even the more expensive imitations, are the same. The greatest experience is if you can get someone else to brush your hair with it. It really massages your scalp and makes the hair shiny. I have had it through long, medium, short, straight, and curly hairstyles. It is the perfect brush.
I can recommend it, even at this price, as you will not have to buy another brush for many decades. If you take care of it, it might even last you forever. Be sure to get the brush recommended for your hair type. Don't try to save money and get the pocket model if you have long/thick hair. The bristles, which are shorter on the pocket version, won't reach your scalp. It makes a wonderful gift!

Had my brush for 30 years!!Sep 25, 2010

I have had my Mason Pearson brush for 30 years! My father bought one for me for Christmas because my best friend had one which I coveted, for good reason! This brush is simply amazing, and will last a lifetime. I have a lot of fine curly/wavy hair. This brush is wonderful to give yourself a 100 stroke brushing before bed. I have had friends use it and fall in love. You will not be disappointed. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas one year (she is almost 10 now) and she is hooked as well. I wash is in a basin of sudsy shampoo every once in a while to get it smelling fresh, but other than that is is low maintenance. I hope you love it as much as I do and know that it will be $200 well spent. It will last you a lifetime. Just don't loose it!!!

Be careful!Oct 14, 2011

I bought this from R & S Factors via amazon. According to the Amazon specifications this brush is for long, normal to thick hair, which describes my own hair. However, it did not detangle my hair very well--it seemed as if the bristles just weren't long enough or stiff enough. I gave this 2 stars because the brush might be good for someone, but the CUSTOMER SERVICE is pathetic. I have never had a problem returning an item to Amazon or to one of their sellers in the past, thus expected the seller to take this item back. Especially at a price of $99!
Instead, R & S Factors says I have to return the brush to London at my expense and then, "we shall make a full refund back to you after deducting a 50% restocking charge." A full refund?!? Huh?
So far as I'm concerned, I won't even look at another Mason Pearson product again and R & S Factors sucks.

Mason Pearson PopularNov 10, 2009
By joeyone I've had this same brush for 12 years and it is the only thing i can use on my hair. I have long straight hair which is fine but I have alot of it so it tangles easy and this is the only brush that will get out the knots and it makes it so nice and smooth and shiny. I couldn't live without it and it still works like new.
