If you want to encourage creativity, lateral thinking, fun and Calvin Ball BUY this immediately!!!!!!!!Dec 27, 2011

I love this toy and I am 42! There are no rules, no moving parts, and no batteries. Just endless opportunities for creativity, silliness, collaboration and fun. My five year old wasn't quite sure what to do with his Bilibos (which made me want to weep for a minute) then my husband and I got down on the floor and invented "Tiddlywinks Sliders with Jumping Turtle Shells." We were having so much fun changing and creating the "rules" as we went my son could not wait to join in. Later we incorporated the shells and the dice into our home version of live action Angry Birds with additional bonus Points if our 18 month old kicked your color shell during the game.
Creativity must be nurtured and discovered it is not something that can be taught. Creativity helps you solve problems and look at things differently. Games with strict rules are fun and my family has at least 40 like Chutes and Ladders, Killer Bunnies, Monopoly and Power Grid but this simple set will help us create games that no one has thought of yet. We will never get bored because it is never the same game twice. I am a teacher and I am planning on getting a couple sets for my classroom. I can already see the potential for creative projects and problem solving. I recommend a roll of butcher paper and markers or crayons to go along with the mini bilibos just in case your game needs a board.
This Christmas our 18 month old played with the bilibos AND the box they came in. Buy a set for your family even if your kids are in high school. The "shells" are sturdy, they float, slide, spin, scoop, and pour. The die allows you to change colors which means you can adjust the odds adding even more variety. You could handicap older kids to level the playing field as well. They are fun indoors and out.The large Bilibos are awesome as well.

MY TODDLER LOVES IT!Feb 14, 2011

I have a wild 2 1/2 year old boy and few toys will hold his attention. This is GREAT!! He loves to sort and flip the chips. This is a great toy that will grow as your child grows as you play and create more complex games. My only complaint is that 36 chips isn't enough. It would be nice if it came with 10 chips of each color to encourage counting and math skills to 10.

My kids LOVE this!May 09, 2011
By pashun84Him This is such a great thing for kids of multiple ages! I have a 6, 5, and 4 year old that love being imaginative and come up with their own games. However, if you happen to have a creative block, they give you a few ideas to get you started. I am a homeschool mom and I have been able to incorporate it into lessons. This was well worth the money!
Fun, creative gameMay 16, 2012
By mamasmiles This game is whatever you make of it! My kids use the bilibos primarily as boats, although sometimes houses for their small plastic creatures. They haven't made much use of the chips beyond sorting them by color; maybe that will change as they grow older. I think the would love this even more if we had a full-size bilibo, but haven't decided it's worth storing, yet at least.
A great value !Dec 25, 2011
By kenpofilipina I was looking to purchase some of the mini bilibos for my 6 year old daughter, and I noticed this game box included 6, and was only $5 more than pack of 2 (at the time of purchase it was just under $15). I didn't really think about the *dice* or chips that came with it since I thought she would only be interested in the shells.
Man, was I surprised! She loved popping the chips out of the dice and putting them back in almost as much as she loved the shells. We've created a few games that involve the dice, as well as a few that don't.
-1 star because the *suggestions for games* was very limited, and the box has 2 holes in it, which make it so that if you forget to put the dice in the pixel bag, you risk losing the dice (and the cost of replacing it is not cheap).
