 Be Prepared to Bend MetalMar 24, 2011

These lanterns are made from cheap, die-stamped metal. Some of them aren't folded into exactly the right shape during assembly, resulting in loose glass panels, crooked pieces, and doors that stick or won't latch properly. Most of the problems can be fixed by gently bending the problem sections of metal by hand. For this one, I had to use jeweler's pliers to work on bottom and top of the door panels until I could get the the door to open and close without having to use force. While I was at it, I also gently bent in by hand the tabs that hold the glass panels in place to make sure they were all secure. In all, a less than 5 minute job to fix everything. Considering how little I paid for the lantern in the first place, I found it a trivial fix for a cheap and cute lantern that the local shops are charging nearly 3 times the amount I paid here.

Beautiful little lantern, good construction, sturdy. Perfect for tea-lights or small votive candles. It's on the smaller side, making it an excellent, subtle accent piece.

Nice latern for your home..but nothing too fancyJan 06, 2011

I love the mood a lantern can set. I keep them in my yard, bedroom, living room, kitchen, and always next to me during a bath. For what you pay this lantern does the job. Nothing too fancy. I needed to screw the hinges a bit since they were loose but what can you expect? I traveled around morocco for two months, so I can tell you this is not hand crafted like the ones you would see there. But as I said it works just fine for what your paying.

I love this lattern. The glass is a deeper green then expected. However, you can't beat the look and quality for the money. Very nice buy!
