 Novelty Lantern; "Antique Pewter Finish"Nov 07, 2011

I'm uploading some pictures for reference. I knew when I ordered this that it would be more decoration and novelty than centerpiece or real Antique vice 'antiqued'.Three stars because I think it should be $10 or less given market value.
Basics:
It's a light weight due to the tin/aluminum('feels like') materials. The glass is finished with a purple painted/tinted treatment to give a nice effect. There are 3 glass panels and 3 screened panels as well as the screened top. Small slide latch to keep door closed. Included ring to hang easily.
Functional facts:
Edges are not all sealed or attached to each other. Panels are put in sloppy and at noticeable angles instead of level. Glass color-coating is highly delicate and even arrived with scratches and chips; showing original clear glass. Overall quick construction and light materials along with the poor Q/A leaves you with a lantern that should be handled delicately. The antiqued finish is also the typical done with a blue coating which is visible in bright ambient light, more so in different types(colors) of lighting.
It's retailing at $14.10 so you already have an idea of the quality or type of merchandise you are buying, I know I did. That being said I still think 10 or less would be a fair price for this item leaving a few still feeling 'took'. I needed a purple lantern and this served the need. I'll hang it somewhere out of close sight, maybe on the deck and see how long it lasts. Please check out the pictures posted. Thank you

The description is correct. This lantern is very enchanting. I cannot wait to see a lit candle in it. I ordered three different lanterns so I can enjoy candlelight without the fear of my cats tail going up in flames.

I got this for my mum for christmas, and she loves it! It looks very pretty when it is lit. I'm glad that I bought this. Bit of a warning: after it's been lit for about 15 minutes it gets really hot

my daughter just did her room in lavender and this was the perfect gift. the finish is beautiful. looks better in person then the picture. she loved it. the lighting design on the ceiling from the candle is really nice
